Hubbard Presents Solo Show

KANSAS CITY, Kansas. Veteran solo performer Robert Hubbard will perform his lasted solo show as part of the 10th Annual Kansas City Fringe Festival. “Flipping Off Our Lord,” Hubbard’s third full-length show, will be presented Sunday, July 20 at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, July 24 at 6 p.m.,Friday, July 25 2014 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, July 26 at 10:30 p.m.
During his North Dakota childhood, Hubbard made a name for himself as the playground atheist. But after his parents divorce, the teenage anti-hero of “Flipping Off Our Lord” found himself attending church against his will.

With comic relish, the angry adolescent resisted the indoctrination with every weapon he has, including his middle finger. In this hysterical and nostalgic autobiographical show, Hubbard reflects on Scooby Doo, Saturday Night Live, and whether faith can be forced.
A theatre professor at Northwestern College, Hubbard has performed his solo shows around the country, including at theatre festivals in Minneapolis, Kansas City, Lincoln, Baltimore and New York City.

One Minneapolis critic described Hubbard’s recent show as “a big hearted, moving, tour de force—a monologue that will sweep you up in its story and passions.”
